Walking for exercise

I always think walking is a bit of a non-exercise, cos I do it a lot. Obviously it doesn't really compare with running or circuits or intervals, but when you are my size, you start slowly. I went out for a walk with my friend L and we were walking for around 2hr 20mins I think (we stopped for a drink with a friend half way round). If we go on the really rough average of 100 cals burned per mile, and say that we were walking around 3mph, then I could say I burned about 700 cals in that time. Which doesn't mean much as I'm not gonna do anything about it, but it's nice to think that I did that before lunch. As I'm pretty large and unfit, I may have even burned more than that - who knows!

I sorted out my gym membership card because I'd lost it, woo, so have a temporary one and will get my new one hopefully in a week's time.

I have netball training on Tuesday after my weigh in, and then I might go walking again or something on Weds with L if she is around...Thurs I am meant to be visiting a friend if she is still up for it, and I'm in Guildford at the weekend again, so will not have an opportunity to us the gym properly until probably Sunday night...if I can be bothered after getting back from Guildford. Which let's face it - may be unlikely. We'll see though - I'll possibly be able to do something on Friday night if I don't go to the pub, and I am poor so the pub might be out of the question.
